Pat Barker is a novelist and short story writer whose "The Ghost Road", the last of the Regeneration Trilogy, won the booker prize in 1995. This is the first in the series and the most desireable and hardest to find.

Pat Barker's novel is a moving fictional account of the soldiers and their suffering during 'The Great War'. Regeneration was the first of the trilogy and focused on the the work of W H R Rivers and the meeting of Owen and Sassoon at Craiglockhart War Hospital in 1917.
