Autographed black & white gloss photo postcard (Rotary. 11637 A.). Unused. Postcard shows Mr Robert Lorraine as 'Jan Redlander' in 'The Man From The Sea' Signed by the great British Actor, soldier and early aviator, Robert Loraine, 1876-1935.
Robert Loraine was considered one of the foremost Shavian actors of his day.
He made his London stage debut on May 22, 1894 as Alfred Dunscombe in "Ne'er-do-well" and his New York debut on March 4, 1901 as Ralph Percy in "To Have and to Hold".
He was a pioneer aviator, one the first to fly over open sea.
Lt Robert Loraine won the Queen's Medal for gallantry in the Boer War and as an aviator during the First World War, the Military Cross for bravery, the Mons Cross and the Distinguished Service Cross.
