Ian Gillett Carmichael, OBE was an English film, stage, television and radio actor & was quite the popular chap in late 50s and early 60s film. In later years, he starred as TV's Lord Peter Wimsey in several BBC adaptations of Dorothy L. Sayers' mystery novels.
