Pilot of the 'Enola Gay', which dropped the 1st Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima (1945). A typed letter signed, 2 pages, April 21, 1984, 8.5" x 11" inches, to fellow crew member George Caron(?-1995), who served as tail-gunner on the Enola Gay, interesting content re problems with the person that Tibbets was using to market Enola Gay memorabilia.
Reads in part, "....I think Clark St John is 'blowing smoke'......As early as June 1988 I knew he was 'cheating' because he never had any invoices available when I asked him what things were costing....He continuously tried to steer the conversations away from COSTS....I got proof that he was charging promoters for my appearances at airshows....where we would sell our wares. He was demanding Cash reimbursement for my presence....with the usual proviso that I would be asked to make a few remarks at dinner...My next move was to inform him by registered letter that I would like to 'inspect the books per our agreement' ...We arrived as stated in my letter; were met with hostility..."

Paul Warfield Tibbets, Jr. (February 23, 1915 - November 1, 2007) was a brigadier general in the United States Air Force, best known for being the pilot of the Enola Gay, the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb in the history of warfare. The bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
